Museum Program – “Saving Florida, Women’s fight for the environment in the 20th century”
Wednesday, March 26th @ 5PM – Museum Program “Saving Florida, Women’s fight for the environment in the 20th century” W / Leslie Poole
Florida is renowned for its beautiful beaches, natural springs and subtropical wilderness but in the past century it has faced unprecedented growth that threatens those same resources. This presentation, Saving Florida, will look at different issues that the state’s women confronted in trying to protect the beauty and wildlife, sometimes before they could vote. They set the foundation for this century’s environmental agenda and as a collective force altered how others saw women’s roles in society.
