  • Wednesdays Old Coronado Beach/Flagler Ave. tour meets at the gazebo adjacent to the shuffleboard courts at the corner of Flagler Ave & Pine Street.

Tour Options

1) Tuesday, The Turnbull Settlement and Old Fort Park Mystery

Learn about Dr. Andrew Turnbull’s Smyrnea’ Settlement 1768-1777, and the hard working people who joined the ill fated settlement to carved out a beginning for the community now known as New Smyrna Beach. Also, visit the site of New Smyrna Beach’s most debated historic element, the ruins in Old Fort Park and explore the various theories of its construction.

2) Wednesday, Old Coronado Beach & Flagler Avenue

Discover a tomb in the middle of the street and a WWII watchtower site as you explore the story of the community formerly known as Coronado Beach. This tour meets at the gazebo adjacent to the shuffleboard courts at the corner of Flagler and S. Pine St. Please arrive 15 minutes early.

3) Thursday, 3 Downtowns and Fort New Smyrna Tour

Explore multiple areas that started to become the town centers for New Smyrna, and the area that became Fort New Smyrna following the 1835 destruction of the city by Native Americans.

4) Friday, Civil War Tour

Learn about the tragic impact the Civil War had on the residents of New Smyrna as they were caught between a Union Navy blockade and Confederate efforts to use Mosquito Inlet as a port to support the war effort.
